FAQs
What kind of photographer are you?
I am a natural light lifestyle photographer. I prefer to keep my images and the people I photograph looking natural, to fully capture the essence of who they are at this moment in time. My photographs are less posed, formal and stiff and aim to capture movement, emotion, and connection.

Who do you photograph?
I am an inclusive photographer and photograph people of all ages, backgrounds, orientations, and family structures. Every one of the families and individuals I meet are unique and I am excited to meet yours.
How do I book a session with you?
Fill out a reservation request to book your session or contact me directly at livrothfussphotography@gmail.com. I ask for a $100 deposit to hold your date on my calendar.

When do you offer sessions?
I photograph year round, seven days a week. I usually schedule sessions an hour or two before sunset, which varies based on the time of the year. The lighting is also really beautiful in the early morning in the hour or so after sunrise. However, I understand that these times may not work for all families, especially those with young children. If we do a session at another time, we may need to plan for locations that provide shade for sunny days.

Where will my session be held?
Most sessions will take place outdoors at the location of your choice. I have listed some recommendations above if you are looking for suggestions or don't have a particular place in mind. The majority of my sessions take place at Valley Forge National Historic Park, which is one of my favorite places to shoot and is breathtaking year round. I also can come to you and take photographs right in your backyard if you want to keep it really simple. I charge a travel fee for sessions more than 15 miles from 19460.

How long will my session be?
Most sessions are between 30-45 minutes. This allows enough time for multiple shots of your family, but keeps it on the shorter side because I know families are busy and I also never want it to feel tedious for kids. Session length is flexible and be shorter or longer depending on how the group is feeling. My goal is to keep things fun and interesting for the kids.

What will my session be like?
I try to keep my sessions fun and engaging, with time for kids to play. This often leads to more authentic representation of their personalities. In general I try to avoid too much stiff posing, but may direct you through some poses to create space for little loving interactions in your family.

Where will my newborn session be held?
All newborn sessions will be held inside the comfort of your home; in the nursery, your bedroom, or any room that has lots of natural light.

At what time of day will my newborn session be?
I usually recommend planning newborn sessions in the late morning, around 9 AM or 10 AM, when there is the best possible light indoors.

How old should my newborn be?
They can be any age! I focus on lifestyle images of your family, rather than the more formal posed ones, so it is not necessary to take these photographs in the first week or two of their life. You can choose to wait until they are a little older if you would like them more alert. Or, if you prefer sleepier baby pictures, we can aim for a session when they are around two weeks old. This will give your family time to adjust to your new little love, but they'll still be in that wonderful snuggly phase.

What should I wear?
First and foremost - something you feel comfortable and yourself in. Same thing goes for kid outfits. How you feel will come across in your photos, for better or worse. I recommend that groups choose clothes that coordinate with each other, rather than ones that exactly match. This would mean clothes with similar colors or values and that all have a similar aesthetic vibe. Patterns, textures, and layers are great ways to add additional interest and movement to your photos. Natural and muted colors will complement the natural scenery better than overly bright colors or black.

Can I bring my dog?
Yes, the more the merrier! I love incorporating furry friends into my photos. Just check in with me first, as some locations may not allow dogs.

Do you offer mini sessions?
Yes, but only on a few dates a year. Mini sessions will be advertised to my email list first and then posted on social media if there are available spots. Subscribe to my email list here.

When do you require payment?
I require a $100 deposit to hold your session date on my calendar. The balance of your session fee is due by the time of your session.

When and how will I get the photos from my session?
Final images are usually delivered as high resolution digital files within 2-3 weeks of your session, though it may take up to 4 weeks during peak periods (September through early November). These will be accessible through a private, password protected gallery, which is shareable and downloadable
Can I order prints and products from you?
Yes. All galleries have an integrated print and product shop to make your experience as easy and seamless as possible. You are also welcome to choose to create these on your own by another method.
