Location & Scheduling
Fresh 48 sessions take place at your birthing location, whether that be a hospital, birthing center or your home. These sessions are quick and typically last no more than 30 minutes, incorporating your immediate family.
Once you go into labor and head to your birthing location, please reach out by text or email. After your baby arrives, we'll finalize when I will come to take photos. Sessions will ideally take place in the morning within the first 24-48 hours after birth. Depending on timing, delivery and other circumstances, they may be scheduled up to 4 days after birth. In rare cases, sessions may take place right after you've returned home.

What To Wear
First and foremost - wear something you feel comfortable and yourself in. The best part about having these sessions, is their meant to document you as you are! You don't need to even change you or your baby. Want to feel a little more put together? You may want to find a robe or leisure/sleep wear that balances comfortable and practical with . Neutral and light colors and simplistic outfits tend to be best and usually compliment any space. But remember this is all about capturing you exactly as you are - raw, authentic, and just postpartum - so make sure you stay true to yourself and keep it low key, since you have enough going on! recommend choosing clothes that not only coordinate with each other, but also with the colors found in your home.
I love when babies are just in their diaper for these sessions, allowing you to see all their little features! If you want to cover them up, a simple plain white or neutral form fitting onesie is always best. Most importantly - keep it easy. If that means you don't change what you and the baby are wearing before I arrive, perfect!

What to Expect During Your Session
I aim to be a fly on the wall during these sessions - just observing and capturing whatever is happening while I am there. I'll focus on all the little details of your newborn. These sessions are meant to be low key and stress free.
Siblings
Families with older children can decide if they want them incorporated into the session. Some decide they want to capture the first moment they meant their new little baby sister or brother. If you would like this, I recommend planning for your older children to be brought in a 10-15 minutes after we start, so I can first focus on the new baby. This is a big change for older children, so they will never be pressured to participate or act a certain way. While we take photos, they can play and will be encouraged at times to visit with the new baby. If there is anything I need to know about their interests or personality that will help me make them feel more at ease, please don't hesitate to share.
If you decide you don't want to include your older children, that is also ok! As many choose to wait until an in-home newborn session, preferring to spend the time at the hospital just with their new baby.
